Neil Howlett’s successful international career included performances for the English Opera Group with Benjamin Britten, the Royal Opera, Welsh National and Scottish Operas, and English National Opera, where he was leading baritone for seventeen years.
He performed well over eighty roles, covering a wide range of repertoire; notable examples include Scarpia. Iago, Macbeth, Boccanegra, Renato, Amfortas, Golaud, Almaviva and Jokanaan. International appearances cover Italy, France, Germany, Scandinavia, South America and the USA, and in his concert repertoire he sang with all the major British orchestras.
